Tornado Warnings?
This isn't something we're used to having in New Jersey.
A very strong storm system just blew through leaving branches down and temporarily flooding streets.

All afternoon, the weather stations were sending out notifications of possible tornadoes. There is actually a Tornado History Project in NJ which keeps statistics of all known or suspected tornadoes in the Garden State. There have been 146 tornadoes in NJ since 1951 when the stats were first kept. The most recent tornado in NJ was on October 7, 2013 in Bergen County. It was a 1 on the Fujita scale - nearly all historical tornadoes in NJ are 0s or 1s, but there was a 2 in 2001 in Monmouth County and a 2 in 1998 in Ocean County. The most recent tornado in Union County was on July 1, 2013.
Of course, during the worst of the storm, Samantha the Wonder Dog wanted to go out. She was outside for about 30 seconds and came back in dripping wet. Hope you all were safe and dry!
