A Pleasant Overcast Day
I'm having a really pleasant day here in Sacramento.  We have had a flurry of gorgeous autumn days, but today has turned overcast.  I rose early this morning and swam laps for a couple hours.  I was famished when I exited the pool because I had no breakfast.  But still, I managed to pass several drive-thru fast food restaurants on the way home, while trying to decide what to cook for lunch.  After a peek in the refrigerator, I fried a couple fish fillets Cajun style, and made an Arugula and Kale salad with light dressing.  The plan was to wash it down with water, or a bottle of POM Wonderful pomegranate juice.  However, I found this 22 oz bottle of an "elixir" by the name of Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Stout.  It's wonderful stuff, and definitely not your daddy's brew.  It has immediately buoyed my spirits, which were already in good repair.  I can't say enough for this stuff!
Now, I'm off to raid the freezer for some Butter Pecan ice cream.  I foresee a nap quickly approaching my future!
