Photo Friday: My Mom & Her Family

"Family, like branches on a tree, all grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one."
My Mom came from a big family but it was confusing because there were so many children from my Grandpa's 3  wives. My grandfather's name was Francis St.Clair but everyone knew him as Frank.
My Grandpa Frank was married 3 times.   His first wife, Edith, died at a young age after bearing 4 children.  Not long after Edith's death, he married Amy Nora Henderson.  They had one child... My Mother, Amy Alta St.Clair.  Unfortunately, my maternal Grandmother also died at a young age when my Mom was only about 2 years old.  As was typical in those days, a man with 5 young children was on the hunt for another wife to care for his children.  He found the only maternal Grandmother I ever knew... Grandma Pansy.  Pansy bore 7 children, at least 2 who died in infancy.  Pansy was a wonderful woman and treated ALL of the children and grandchildren equal. I loved her very much.
The picture above is of all the women (and their offspring) on my Mom's side of the family.  These are all my Mother's half-sisters and the wives ... more
