Hurricane Flo Headed to the Carolinas
Hurricane Flo is headed to the Carolinas.
September brings hurricanes to the Carolinas--rain, wind, tornados, and hail. Power outages, trees down, roads blocked with trees and flooding water, here is a list to help you be prepared.
1) Get cash, if the power goes down for several days the ATMs do too. Buying gas for your generators and cars will be a cash-only purchase till the power is back on.
2) Water, not just to drink but to flush with too.  You will need at least 10 gallons per person for a 3 day period without power.
3) Eats you can prepare without power...Lunchables are what the kids want but not so much for me.  We stock up on fruit and veggies that we can chop and eat.  We also clean out the freezer-can you say Bar-b-que???
4) Make sure the propane tanks for the grills and fireplace is full. With the storm comes lower temps and if you have an older family member the fireplace will be a great place to warm up.
5) Daily needs, make sure you have at least a week supply of your prescriptions.
6) You will also need to know where the birth certificates, SS Cards, and other vital information is kept in ... more
