Get out of your Rut before it Becomes a Ditch
Last week I attended my first ever book club meeting with a wonderful group of ladies of all ages.  My friend who started the group wanted an informal gathering where we can just "be", discuss a good book, and share some thoughts and laughter.
My wish for the group was a mixed bag of ages.  I love the perception differences and even the priorities between an "old" person and a young person.  Just for reference, our group was a lively mix between 31 and 87!
One of my favorite quotes of the night was from an 80 year old who shared a tidbit after a story was shared.
"You better get out of your rut before it becomes a ditch!"
Think about that a second.
"You better get out of your rut before it becomes a ditch"
Shades of "don't make a mountain out of a molehill" but if you don't live rural, you might not know what a molehill is!
"Dotty's" quote has become a new reminder that it's not always wise to put your head down and keep plowing forward. SOME times, it might be good to lift our heads out of our "ruts" and get a fresh perspective. SOME times we need a new direction...and this ... more
