How Many Things Can Go Wrong in One Day?
Seems like all the bad things that could possibly happen to me have been on hold for the year and they all exploded yesterday. My sister is fond of saying I live a charmed life. She says it's like I walk around oblivious to the world around me because, I dunno, like I have guardian angels or something watching out for me. Not that I believe in angels, because I do not.
I was trying to pick out the silver linings from yesterday's activities, like I picked up a couple new clients. That's always good. Not dead yet, check. Yet, there was all of this other stuff coming at me from all directions. Text messages, phone calls backing up, emails exploding, people at my door, two different sets of contractors to work with, faulty materials, wrong installs, including having an AC contractor slap a large cash refund on my table and announce I should call somebody else because he can't fix it.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
