There is a site that blogs about light construction which is a very good site.   I have read numerous articles from the Journal of Light Construction.   Excellent information.   While we as Realtors® are not required to understand construction, my opinion is that it helps to always have knowledge.    Not that we become experts but it gives us a good idea when we are helping our clients.   We help our clients when we have a broad base of knowledge to understand as many parts of a real estate transaction.  Then we cannot be anything other than a help to our clients. 
 
Walking into a home it might make one more understanding of the items that may be a concern.  It may also give us a better understanding when the home inspector explains his findings.  Not to say reading articles makes us an expert  but it may allow us to ask better questions and understand the responses.
 
Plus it never hurts to have a good reference site for questions about your own home or that you can point clients to for helpful advice such as avoiding wet walls, avoiding wet roofs,  ice dams (which we have none of down ... more
