Please listen to Mike Cooper. He speaks the truth about never skimping on remodeling and I would add, never take electricity for granted. Pay the price to get electricity fixed by a licensed electrician without complaint. 
 
Living without a home due to an electrical fire was one of my many hardest life lessons to learn. My home was older, built in 1972 with aluminum wiring. I did not know that years later, it would be a code violation not even a builder can use anymore. When my spouse died at an early age long before the fire, we didn't have life insurance. People offered their assistance, and when the need was necessary, I accepted help. A Master Electrician could have noticed problems with the house before January 1994 when the house caught fire. It was the coldest winter I ever experienced with wind chill factors 60 below in January in Northern, IL. Temperatures were shockingly cold. 
 
The only thing I had left was my son, the clothes on our back, our dog, and a few things that were salvageable. Thankfully, my daughter was away at school. Living ... more
