The Unveiling 2019 Supercross Futures
The 2019 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season will include the unveiling of Supercross Futures which will be an AMA Amateur National Championship. The AMSOIL Arenacross series will be discontinued and the brand new Supercross Futures will be featured at select locations within the 2019 AMA Supercross season. Supercross Futures will take the place of the Road to Supercross program which amateur riders were required to participate in to gain the ability to compete in Supercross later in their racing career.
The incorporation of Supercross Futures comes in response to an increased demand for high-level amateur events throughout the country. Much like previous amateur events, qualification for Supercross Futures will be based on riders’ geographic regions and will culminate in a championship event at the end of the season. 
The stated mission with Supercross Futures is to improve the quality of the AMA’s amateur circuit for the best rising talent in the sport. In 2018, there were four amateur racing events which averaged over 700 entries each. There will be a significant expansion of the amateur circuit in 2019 with eight events which will bring young riders closer to the next level of their aspiring careers.
