There's No Place Like Home!
 
June is National Homeownership Month! My favorite quote about a home is "There's No Place Like Homes" from The Wizard of Oz.
As I reflect on all the people I've assisted with buying and selling homes, I see evidence that there really is "No Place Like Home".  I see up front and personal the excitement that comes with it. For sellers, there's preparation, anticipation, and letting go. For buyers there's excitement and a little fear of whether they're making the right decision.
 
When I first meet with a home seller, of course they want to know about me and my experience. Then the table turns to what they can sell their house for, what they need to do to get it ready, and how the process will work for them when they're moving out and possibly purchasing another home. The process can seem a little daunting. It truly gives them an appreciation for other sellers. 
 
We also discuss the people who will likely be purchasing their home. If it is a typical first time home buyer purchasing their home, we have to stage their house to appeal to those buyers. If it is a family, we have to think about that and ... more
