South Lamar is an urban neighborhood with a mix of residential and commercial areas. Neighborhoods that border the community are Barton Hills, Zilker, Galindo, South Manchaca, and Westgate. The district is four miles south of Downtown Austin and provides an ideal home option for home buyers looking for a new house in the heart of the city. There is a variety of housing developments and suburban subdivisions within the South Lamar district.
