If you follow and read my posts here and on instagram you probably know what I am most grateful for - Nature.
I love to be able to walk and hike in Nature. Just this weekend, although very cold I got my self together, bundled up and headed out, I was so pleased I did as I got to see this beautiful bird sitting by the creek I walk along to get into Valley Forge National Park.
There is something special about walking in nature, among the trees, across open fields, along side a babbling brook. To enjoy the animals, deer, foxes, chipmunks, squirrels; the birds, too many to name, but when I catch site of a blue heron I always stop and admire them, they can stand so still, patiently watching for fish, posied to deliver a deadly strike and provide for themselves and possibly their family as they are pretty independent birds. Seeing them fly between the trees is wonderful, and thought provoking how they avoid the branches and trees. To see the trees and how the light changes from one walk to another, from one season to another, how the colors change with the seasons, all this is something that ... more
