Stop Smoking November 21 Great American Smokeout

For over 45 years, the American Cancer Society has encouraged people of all ages to quit smoking-at least for the day-as part of the Great American Smokeout.
Held on the third Thursday of November, the annual event challenges people to quit on that day, or use the day to make a plan to quit.
Sadly, approximately 40 million American adults still smoke, and tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the country. Even worse, young people (especially those under 18) smoke e-cigarettes or "vape" in the mistaken belief it is less lethal than cigarette smoking.
