Another Week to Deal With
Chico is my youngest pup at five years old. He is a strong, loving and good boy. He had a growth in his mouth, and long story short he had surgery last Saturday to remove it along with a good piece of his jaw. It was, and still remains scary. I brought him home on Sunday and we have spent the week trying to get better. He is doing better than I am.
Being a caregiver is difficult. He has a cone on to keep him from pawing at his mouth. Administering medications is tough. I have various syringes and because I am unable to hold his mouth open, more meds wind up on his face than in his mouth. It is frustrating but we are coping. I remove his cone to clean it and when he had his meals.
So next week is much looked forward to. I have a dental procedure on Thursday and then on Saturday Chico and I will go back to see his surgeon and hopefully be able to ditch the cone and get a good biopsy report. Until then, one day at a time.
