Active Rain Superbowl Party
Well it is hard to know who to root for this year. Andy Reid who never got my Eagles a Superbowl for various reasons often related to not using the clock correctly; or the 49'ers who I knew about before ever coming to America. Who ever I end up rooting for I will most likely be at a friend's house and have brought my chili with me.
I cannot give you exact measurements, but the best recipes are like that, eyeball it and add a little bit more of what you like.
I always start by frying some chopped onion and garlic, adding chopped peppers and celery, when that has softened, I add my spices, coriander, cumin, chili from one of the many Indian stores we have as it is spicier than regular chili powder, paprika, salt and pepper and some Cinnamon, plus some oregano or Italian seasoning. Fry that for a few minutes then add your meat and cook till browned, add your beans, I use a mix of three types, black, kidney and pinto beans, re-season with salt and pepper,  add a large tin of crushed tomatoes and some tomato paste, along with some Worcestershire sauce, I have occasionally when the mood takes me added beer, ... more
