Clean Your Virtual Desktop Day is October 19

  Every third Monday in October is annual National Clean Your Virtual Desktop Day. This is much-needed during the plague year of 2020. With more people than ever working from home, it's important to organize one's virtual (as well as "in real life") desktop. 
Remember when one's computer, laptop or tablet was new and the desktop was clean and organized? The trash file was empty. The only files on the computer were the ones the manufacturer created. No viruses. No documents. And remember when it seemed so fast, too?
A clean, organized space offers a fresh canvas and fewer frustrations. Everything is in its place.
It can be done! Backup the hard drive. Archive old files. Create short cuts. It will help your computer run faster and help you find them more quickly.
Next...Organize those photos. Put them onto a thumb drive. Clean out that email, too. At least mark all of those emails as unread! Delete unused icons.
Then do the same thing with the smart phone. Eliminate unused Apps. Remove games no longer played.
And on all technology, update the virus protection, and run it. Then set it to run on a regular schedule.
