Sliding Doors
On the way home from a showing, yesterday, I came to a crossroads.
Should I turn left, and just stop at the gas station, fill the car and go home? Or should I turn right and head to the grocery store and refill my almost empty larder?
I quickly made the decision to head right to the grocery... since It was a beautiful day here in greater Chicagoland... it was 76°, the sky was blue the sun was shining, and I had the convertible out for what was likely to be one of the last days before winter clamped down hard on the Chicago area.  Grey, cold and snowy for December, January and February.  Since the path to the grocery was a little longer, I chose that route.
I made the turn, came to the very first light and stopped.  I suddenly heard a smashing noise behind me (sounds as though someone had thrown a garbage can down a short set of stairs), and about a second later, my car was gently pushed forward about 3 inches.
The car behind me had been violently rear-ended, and that caused them to be pushed into me.
