Wake Forest Home Inspection - new home and fire hazard
Clear Choice Home Inspections inspected a new home in Wake Forest NC today (just North of Raleigh NC) and found about 35 issues for the summary. The biggest problem was the service entrance cable (supplies the electric power for the house) was rated at 150 amps while the breaker "protecting" this wire was rated at 200 amps. Sooo, the breaker takes 200 amps to trip while the wire could melt/catch fire just above 150. Nice. And to make it worse, three of the smoke detectors in the home did not function properly. This new home buyer in Wake Forest NC was very happy that I completed his home inspection. He is also doing radon testing and hopefully that will be clean. ... more
