Boise River of Idaho
The Boise River has long been a beautiful part of S.W. Idaho and supplies irrigation water, rafting, boating and fishing opportunities as it has done for many over the years.  
The river runs approximately 75 miles long starting in the mountains east of Boise, the capital of Idaho.  As it runs through downtown Boise many beautiful parks border it and thousands take advantage of it during the summer months.  It is common to see the Boise River dotted with rafters and fishermen throughout Boise and other parts of the river as it makes it's way through neighboring Canyon County.  The river eventually makes it's way to the Snake River at the Idaho-Oregon border.
Many farmers in Canyon County especially obtain their irrigation water from the Boise River to irrigate their farms during the summer months.  Many of the Boise River irrigation rights are some of the oldest irrigation rights in the State of Idaho.
The beauty of the Boise River during the fall months cannot be overstated.  The color of the trees bordering the river with yellow, red and pinkish colors is something to behold.  Many photographs of the river during this time have made their way to national publications.
