It is another great day in Southport NC...
WE are on the Beaver Dam Creek that goes into the IntraCoastal Waterway that goes into the Cape Fear River that goes into the Atlantic Ocean. The way "the crow flies", we are 2 miles from the Ocean.
Talk about a great place to live...this is IT!
In the afternoon, we go and sit on the dock and catch up with the events of the day and watch the sun set, and the ibis and herons go home to roost.

I love Southport...
Southport is one of the most beautiful and charming small towns in North Carolina.
Visitors flock to Southport's picturesque tree-lined streets to explore its many restaurants, shops, marina, yacht basin, waterfront & historic attractions. Hundreds of years ago, pirates & explorers visited the area.
Today, it's convenient location, where the Atlantic Ocean, Intracoastal Waterway, & Cape Fear River meet, is still very popular with mariners of all types..Motor boat and Sailboat treasure these waters.

We in Brunswick County, North Carolina are having a hard time feeding our needed. We have food banks opened up to feel those in the County that are hungry. There seems to be so many folks that are in need right now. I have gone to our church and we are asking for our congregation to help us fill up the shelves with food.
Today I picked up the food that our Coldwell Banker Sea Coast office has collected and took this food to the Collection point for our local food bank. I do hope that the folks that are hungry will … (3 comments)

Today is a great Monday..
Today is MONDAY and I have had a wonderful weekend. We had 14 over for a Boston Butt with all of the trimings..
I have learned much in the way of Blogging and Facebooking. There is such a great support group with our Activerain members. I just want to say Thank YOU
There has been a lot of positive response from friends and associates from all over.

Feels like Fall!
It is so good to get up in the morning and feel the chrispness of the air. Sat on the Dock for a bit last night and enjoyed the birds feedingin the marsh and a gorgeous sunset. I love blanket time on the dock.
Fishing is getting better also. Our grandson caught a 17 inch Puppy Drum over the weekend and it fed 6 of us for dinner. (along with a few shrimp and cole slaw)

I had read this but have not had it written down. This will make you feel good about our Military of today. I am honored to share this on...just in case you did not hear about this..
Did YOU know about this? A chaplain, who happened to be assigned to the Pentagon, told of an incident that happened right after Flight 77 hit the Pentagon on 9/11.
A daycare facility inside the Pentagon had many children, including infants who were in heavy cribs. The daycare supervisor, looking at all the children they needed to evacuate, was in a panic over what … (1 comments)

Is Business picking up for you? It is finally moving some here in our area.
I am in the coastal part of North Carolina, where the Atlantic Ocean and the Cape Fear River join. It has been slow here for the past 8 years but I am beginning to see some increased activity.
Everyone says that we have reached the bottom...I am not so sure, but I do know that prices are much more affordable. I almost feel that we are back to pre 2005 prices. Does anyone else get that feeling?

The festivities have started. It is a rainy start to the 4th and has cancelled the Beach Day on Oak Island this year and the firework. It is the first time that I ever remember that happening.
There are bands playing on the waterfront..as we speak. They are bands from all over.
Have you ever heard of the Embers? They will be here for the fireworks on the 4th.
The park is set up with crafts from all over. They folks are showing their finest. You can get some really great buys in the park.

Southport Host the Official 4th of July Parade.. Last year, we were filming the Stephen King movie, "Safe Haven". It was an exciting time for all of us that live in Southport.
I just want to tell you a bit about the 4th of July in Southport NC.
WE have the privilege of hosting the official 4th of July Parade right here....in our small quaint community of Southport.
This community of about 5,000 folks becomes a metropolis of about 100,000 folks. There are food vendors on the streets, selling anything you would ever want to think of eating.

This the a great time of the year in Southport, North Carolina.
I am a member of the Sea Notes Choral Society in Southport. We perform 3 times a year and do great concerts that is enjoyed by all.
On the 4th of July we will be doing a concert of patriotic music. WE will be singing music that you love and that makes you feel like an American. WE have the official 4th of july parade for the state of North Carolina.

Duty time is an opportunity to make a new connection. The phone is ringing off the hook right now. Does this mean that our market is stabilizing or coming back...
Well, I find myself having Duty time today. (A better way to say Opportunity Time). Actually I have been enjoying it. It is the first exposure that your company makes when some one calls on the phone or walks through the door. We need to ponder that a minute. What you say or do...the minute someone walks in or calls in is the first impression that those folks have of your company.

I just love Fridays. It is the day that I look forward to all week.
With great anticipation, I think of great things that we can do to fill the weekend with fun and build memories.
We have our youngest daughter with us this weekend. WE will watch the grandchildren play baseball tomorrow and on Sunday have a
family dinner. I love the weekends they are our time to rejuvenate..

Opening Day at the Bill Smith Park in Southport.
It was so much fun for us that were there. I had two of my grandchildren playing at different times. Joshua and Marissa are on the
"Wolfpack Team"~NC State. This year the leaders decided that the teams would be ACC teams. So we have the Tar Heels, the WolfPack and other college leagues. This was a fun thing to do.
Great fun day for us all.

Well, I have been in this business since 1983..and those are the terms that we used to folks that just came in to our offices as sightseers, "Tire Kickers and Tooth Pickers"...
I think some serious buyers are coming into town but they seem to be looking for the deal of the century. I know it is hard going in a lot of areas right now but I am somewhat encouraged.

Today was Marissa's very First BallGame.
She is just four years old and wanted to play ball like her big brother, Joshua. You can see the concentration on the faces of these little ones. It was so funny when they would hit the ball and then go and sit down. We were all yelling "run to first base". Guess what they do not understand the concept of First Base.
Anyway...it was a great time to be had by all.
Marissa...had a ball...and so did we..

Tonight we had our rehersal for the program that we are going to do on Good Friday. It is "Journey, Cross and Crucifixion" and is a emotionsl program that shows the stations of the Cross. This is such a heartrendering program and everyone should see if at least one time.
WE will have two services, one at 5:00 and then again at 7:00.
The best part of this story is Easter Sunday. That is the day HE arose from the dead. WE need to understand the pain and suffering but with
the hope for Tomorrow..

I just found another website that I wanted to share with you. It is a learning site for us and adults and also for our children. If you have school aged children, you may want to share this with them. It helps in learning the States of the United States, Counties around the world, world capitals, TV phrases, and much more. It also helps in keeping your mind sharp. I am trying to ward off Alzheimer's.
