I know that we are all sick of hearing about and dealing with the gas prices. Yesterday, I watched the prices in my area go from $3.699 to $4.609. One station had gas at $3.699 and the station across the street had gas at $4.609. It is a crazy time, but it still hits the pocketbook really hard. So, I am going to look at the positive side this weekend. Since the cost of gas has been eating away at our budget, we have already been cutting back on things such as eating out, shopping and going to the movies etc. … (0 comments)

south carolina: My Backyard

My backyard is becoming a wildlife sanctuary. We have wild chickens and roosters, ducks, an abundance of squirrels, raccoons, wild cats, owls, and goats. In the distance, I can hear cows, but they have made it to my yard yet. Now, that fall is approaching the deer are starting to roam again. I will have at least three deer a day walk in the backyard. I have a listing that was not having any showings. It is a nice home in a very affordable price range. About 3 weeks ago, after very few showings, the homeowners agreed to a small price reduction. There were still no showings. The homeowners took my suggestions on simple curb appeal improvements. I made new pictures for the MLS and I did some more advertising, but still no showings. Today, I am going to brag on my husband, Andy. He is a custom cabinet maker and designer and he owns and operates Ryals Cabinets in Lyman, South Carolina. Tropical Storm Hanna is moving toward South Carolina with the threat of hitting the east coast as a level 1 (at least) hurricane. Everyone is busy preparing for the threat of the looming storm including high school football . Most of the High School Games(upstate of South Carolina) that were scheduled for this Friday night have been moved up to this Thursday night in order to beat the looming storm.
