As we all know, the economic downturn has been difficult on many. While the drastic reduction of real estate prices has been a horror to most, for some it has been a blessing. I am sure this topic has been brought up once before. Since I have not read about it lately, I'm going to have to bring it up. This is a common dillema for us Atlanta agents as of late. I personally have 9 sellers in Florida that are waiting for there home to sell before they move to Canton, Woodstock, or Alpharetta. Canton Real Estate will never be the same! Cherokee County's retail boom has taken off! Instead of just a county for people to live, it is now a place where you can shop, eat, drink, be entertained, and so on! Before this commercial Real Estate boom, citizens of Cherokee County had to go south to do just about anything. Now that has changed with the expansion of Riverstone Parkway, Towne Lake Parkway, hwy 92, and the soon to be RidgeWalk Parkway! The county's restaurant market has exploded since 2002. The senior housing project that was abandoned while under construction a year ago, is finally going to be completed. The project sits off Marietta Hwy and Waleska Street, and has been sitting there growing mold for almost a year now. I have fielded questions by many clients over the last 6 months on why the building has not been finished yet. Now I finally have answers! The buiding was purchased by Jasper-based Etowah River Group LLC, and are turning the site into apartment homes.
