In less than a month, the average 30-year mortgage rate has leapt from just below 6% to nearly 7%.
Stronger than expected economic data has the market worried that the Fed may take rates higher, and keep them there longer. But behind the scenes, inflation is already a lot lower than the official data, the real estate market is 'normalizing' and buyer activity is beginning to pick up.
