With economic struggles affecting almost everyone now days, here are some ways to help stretch that dollar. 1. Dry your clothes using low heat. 2. Wash laundry with cold water instead of warm or hot. 3. Set your thermostat back a few degrees at night 4. Use wash clothes instead of paper towels whenever possible. 5. Raise the temperature setting in your refrigerator. 6. Turn off a few lights 7. Put your computer into suspend mode when not in use 8. Fix leaky faucets 9. TAX CREDIT FOR HOMEBUYERS First-time homebuyers who purchase homes from the start of the year until the end of November 2009 may be eligible for the lower of an $8,000 or 10% of the value of the home tax credit. Rember a tax credit is very different than a tax deduction - a tax credit is equivalent to money in your hand, as opposed to a tax deduction which only reduces your taxable income.
