It is a common misconception. Ask people anywhere and someone will likely tell you they think real estate agents are scammers... crooks..."shiesty". Here's the thing--in any profession, you will inevitably find some that do not uphold the standards of practice set forth. There will always be people who feel as though they are above the law and who choose to act unethically. This is (and will always be) an issue not only among real estate agents, but among professionals in every industry. Imagine this: You’re on a football team. Your opponent’s team has 2 coaches, 30 players, an extensive playbook, a training schedule, AND a game plan! The team you’re on has no coaches, a few extra players, and a couple plays. Would you feel comfortable going into the game knowing that? I know I wouldn’t. The same holds true for when you buy a home in Jacksonville North Carolina. The seller has a real estate agent that has pledged to work for him.
