For months now, my husband has been asking me to go to breakfast at Maureen's Kitchen. He and his running friends will eat breakfast there when they go for a run in Smithtown, NY.
Since my workload is light this week and he is on vacation, we went to Maureen's Kitchen this morning. I am glad we did!

Every July my family and I vacation in Montauk Point. We go with a group of runners from the Massapequa Road Runners organization.I am not a runner but my husband is and my 14 year old son is starting to run here and there.
We stay at the Ocean Beach Resort which has an indoor/outdoor pool. It has a retractable roof so when it's raining you can still swim since they will close the roof. No other resort in Montauk Point has this type of pool. Their rates for the Summer are reasonable. They … (5 comments)

We always hear the negative about all public and private jobs whether paid or volunteer.
A few years ago, a "reporter" wrote about how volunteer fire departments across Long Island, New York spend tax payers money in areas they shouldn't be spending. Those departments were a select few. Most are careful and conscious as to where the money gets spent. She didn't even go as far as pointing out what the other departments do. Just the negative. LL Dent is the perfect restaurant to try Southern cuisine.
My husband and I discovered this restaurant when we were shopping at Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island a few years ago.
I highly recommend trying their Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer! It's out of this world! I also love their grits!

New York State will offer cash advances of up to $8,000 on the federal homebuyer tax credit for borrowers using a State on New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA) mortgage to purchase a home.
SONYMA’s new Tax Credit Advance Loan (TCAL) can be used toward the down payment or closing costs and can be repaid without interest when the homeowner receives their federal homebuyer tax credit. The program will launch on January 1, 2010.
