Homes with outdoor space led 20 contracts signed for $2M or more Park Two Park Slope townhouses topped the list of Brooklyn’s luxury contracts asking $2 million or more last week, according to Compass’ weekly report. The first was a 3,084-square-foot renovated townhouse at 385 12th Street that was last asking $3.8 million, or $1,231 per square foot. The home has five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, as well as a 700-square-foot backyard with a steel deck. The state has released an official confirmation that real estate is considered an “essential business.” But ambiguity remains about what in-person contact is permissible.
In a guidance issued Thursday, the Empire State Development agency said real estate services must be conducted remotely for all transactions, “including but not limited to title searches, appraisals, permitting, inspections, and the recordation, legal, financial and other services necessary to complete a transfer of real property.”

After facing pressure from city officials and workers, the state is shutting down all construction except work on infrastructure, healthcare facilities and affordable housing.
The Empire State Development Corp. updated its guidelines Friday, saying only work on “roads, bridges, transit facilities, utilities, hospitals or health care facilities, affordable housing, and homeless shelters” will be considered essential. More than half of city apartment dwellers plan to dish out $500 or less in holiday tips in their buildings, according to an online survey. That may sound like plenty of cheer, but fully staffed properties have 20 to 30 workers, all of whom count on the extra cash to brighten their holiday seasons.
