There are a few things you can do to reduce your homeowners insurance cost, such as asking what discounts are available and simply shopping around.  Making sure that you are raising your deductibles is a good one, but one that many homeowners forget is that you want to insure your home, not your land.
Land has little threat of being damaged and well; there is no cost replacement on that nice old oak in your back yard.  Making sure to exclude the cost of your land can mean a real savings on your homeowners insurance.

Snow plows are in place and freezing winter weather is on its way.   Lumpkin County School Superintendent, Dewy Moye  has already left a robo message stating schools are closed tomorrow due to predicted snow and low temperatures (12-14 F in the morning!!)

 
We are looking out for our pets and making sure that the fire wood is ready.  Keeping the bitter draft out is another thing we're working on.  We have done some new weather stripping and considering other upgrades to keep our home warm and more energy efficient this winter.

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, winter will be colder than normal this year for North Georgia with the snowiest periods in mid- to late January.
There is still time to winterize for the season and insure that your home is sufficiently protected for the upcoming season.
