This is a fun question to try and explain. The truth is that there are many reasons why Route 12 stops short of the communities of Carova, NC. One of the main reasons is because in between the paved road and the first subdivision know as Ocean Beach is the Currituck National Estuarine Research Reserve. This land stretches for about a mile and covers over 700 acres. For those of you who have not had the pleaseure of walking this land and enjoy this Virtual Field Trip.

We don't get much snow here in Carova, NC, but we still try to keep the Holiday Spirit alive as best we can. Even our neighborhood recycling center, affectionately called "The Dump" does what they can to celebrate.
