north carolina: Y...M...C...A, Everyone has fun at the YMCA-Ya...come on, sing with me! - 02/26/08 07:30 AM
Looking for a new health club?  Have you considered your Local YMCA?
Once the center of strong families...the YMCA is making a strong comeback.  Now, mind you, I am not one who is crazy about exercise, but I know it is important and my wife and I decided that for each other and our child that making a positive effort to better our health and fitness level, we would join a health club.
There are many in my area and we looked at a few.  The one requirement that I had was that it had to have a pool.  Hey, everyone enjoys swimming, … (4 comments)

north carolina: Ahhh...flurry possible and as usual...NC is going crazy! - 01/16/08 02:22 PM
Well....it is cold here in NC.  Just a few days ago it was 70 degrees.
Now if you have never been to the sandhills of NC then maybe you don't understand that we have really interesting winter weather.  Usually it is rainy...I mean, get sick of it rainy.  Some days it is warm...some days, well, BRRRRRRR!!!!
Ok, so if you guessed it, I don't do well in cold.  Probably has something to do with all those cold winter nights working for the FD standing outside for hours soaking wet.  Someone once told me that if you get REALLY cold just one time that … (6 comments)

north carolina: I think I am going to buy a Santa hat... - 11/27/07 02:19 AM
As I was reading a blog on here this morning I noticed the writer was wearing a Santa hat.  What a great way to show the Christmas spirit!
I have been sitting here this morning and thinking about the idea of a Santa hat.  Now maybe to some of you who think that the image of a real estate professional wearing a Santa hat is not going to work, I am saying...THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX!
In our everyday attire we all appear the same to the consumer.  As a matter of fact if we don't do something to differentiate ourselves from others … (3 comments)

There is a huge buzz around the Fayetteville, NC area right now and a lot of excitment!
The troops are beginning to return home to the Ft. Bragg base!  For a little town that basically survives on the military members it has been a hard time with them gone.
About 200 members of the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment and even more members of the 2nd of the 505th have returned this week with the rest of the battalion scheduled to return over this weekend.
We thrive on our soldiers around here and they are a big contibuting factor to the Fayetteville, NC economy, not … (1 comments)

north carolina: FINALLY IT'S RAINING!!!! North Carolina sees a little relief. - 10/25/07 01:48 AM
Finally!  IT IS RAINING!  Anyone from the North Carolina area call tell you without a doubt that it has been a long, dry and hot summer in North Carolina.  It seems as though the storms that have been about the country have just been taking a de-tour when it comes to North Carolina recieving any rain.
Several areas have gone to Stage 2 water restrictions as of the past week and it just seemed as though things were getting worse and worse.  Falls Lake which serves that areas around Raleigh, NC had all but dried up completely and they were predicting that … (1 comments)

north carolina: The elusive cutomer, client, and leads.... - 09/11/07 09:11 AM
Thank goodness it is five o'clock. This has been one of those mental days.  Working on my farming campain for the rest of the year and my mind is a fuzzy shade of gray.
It's interesting.  We all do search for the elusive customer, client and leads.  Some of us find them quickly..others struggle.
Reading ActiveRain today looking for some ideas just added to the confusion.  Postcards?  Some say yes, some say no.  Direct mail?  To some it is pure gold others..not soo much.  Websites?  Optimize this, content yes, content no, template site, custom site.
One thing I really realized today was that … (5 comments)

north carolina: Fayetteville, North Carolina. History Heroes and a Hometown Feeling. - 08/09/07 04:47 AM

Welcome to Fayetteville, North Carolina!  A great place to live!
Being a native of Fayetteville I guess you could say that I am kind of partial to this area.  Wayyyy back in 1971 I was born in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center located in Fayetteville....so I guess you could say I am a lifelong resident.  Other than a short 8 years of living in a neighboring county I have always been a resident of Fayetteville.
So what is it that makes the Fayetteville / Fort Bragg area a great place to live?  Well, I am going to give you a few examples.  Join … (3 comments)

north carolina: Your mugshot... - 03/02/07 11:31 AM
How often do you update your advertising photo?  Are you using a photo that is dated and no longer looks like you?  Is there a reason that you would do that?
There are a couple of agents in my area that use advertising photos of themselves that must be quite old.  When you see them in person they look nothing like the card in my card file.  Deceptive?
I am curious as to the reason someone would want to do this.  To me I think it could be viewed by the client as deceptive and dishonest.  If you have a business card … (3 comments)

north carolina: Call capture....your thoughts - 03/02/07 11:04 AM
The company I was recently affiliated with used call capture.  It was provided by the owner of the company.
After leaving them I searched for a new provider and found a good one that is both cheaper and a lot easier to use.
Using call capture in listing presentations makes a unique value proposition to the sellers.  I demonstrate it live, right in their living room....you should see the reactions on the faces of the sellers.
Recently I have begun to experiment with using it for converting FSBO's.  In my correspondence with them I pre-make a recording and then mail them the "use it … (25 comments)

north carolina: It's a...It's a.....It's a BOY!!!!!!!! - 02/27/07 11:59 AM
Ok, ok.....I know I have been off of the topic lately but I have good reason.  You see things are changing in my life rather quickly.  A new phase of my life is about to begin.
Went for the second ultra sound today.  The little fella was quite a wiggler.  He was constantly moving while the nurse was trying to get the pictures but she was able to get some great ones.
Ok, I know you are all dying to know...yes the picture is posted in my office....hey after all they are my first, well ok, second baby pictures.
It really is interesting how … (1 comments)

If you have ever read my blog then you have probably read the entry entitled:

The reason February 27th is going to be sooooo special is that it is … (2 comments)

north carolina: First set of letters secured, next destination??? - 02/25/07 08:41 AM
A while back I wrote about the fact that I was in the process of securing my Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) designation.  SOme of you may have read that blog... WOOOHOOOO...on my way to having letters behind my name!As of February 21, 2007 I have completed my work and been deemed by the ABR grantors (REBAC) to be an official ABR designee.
With much pride and a renewed confidence I am including the designation on all of my advertising avenues.
The question is...do you pursue further education to better serve your clients?

north carolina: Family time...time well spent. - 09/10/06 03:41 AM

In this business, as we all know, we spend a lot of time working.  Maybe not at the office, maybe not in the car, maybe not even intentionally.  Have you ever really thought about the time that you dedicate to this business?  No, I am not talking about the Monday-Friday routine.  I am talking about the time that the business is on your mind.
If you are like me I always seem to be thinking of something involving the business, even if it is just for a flighting second.  Sitting in the chair at night watching the idiot box a thought might … (1 comments)

north carolina: Raining yet again in NC - 09/06/06 02:08 AM

Just unbelievable.  The weather man has actually gotten some forecasts right.  Of course maybe that has nothing to do with the Tropical Storm that just blew through.  Bascially I need some sunshine...had enough rain.  Ok rant over.
Let's talk about leads.
Maybe it is just me I don't know but I have noticed a huge influx lately of leads that are coming in that are bogus.  Seems as the consumers go up and down in the buying cycle and sometimes they give ya the "good stuff" and sometime they come up with really interesting names.
Got one yesterday for Berry Beverage.  At the time … (3 comments)
