Thursday night in New Castle Pennsylvania LAwrence County held a yearly spectacular event Union Township's Scotland Meadow Park was the scene of Western Pennsylvania, Hot Air Balloon " Nite Glow " The launch for this mornings 6:30 AM was canceled to to a few rain drops through out our fair city of New Castle. Weather conditions need to be perfect before they will launch the 25 balloons scheduled for lift off. Oh what a night....... in New Castle, Pennsylvania......the night glow of the hot air balloon show was an amazing show to watch. Hundreds of residents and far away visitors enjoy the " perfect weather day " The balloons tonight were inflated and were on the ground only. The first launch is scheduled between 6:00 and 7:00 Friday morning, weather permitting. I spent a couple hours strolling the usually peaceful Scotland Meadows Park in Union Townships. It is that time of the year when excitement and anticipation fills the air for the annual " Balloon Quest " held in Union Township at beautiful Scotland Meadows Park. The Union Township Fire Department host the . no admission charged event. This spectacular in sponsered by Mrozek Financial and the event planner Lois Merryman will be high in the air over Lawrence County along with 20 to 25 other hot air balloons.

New Castle residents prepare to enjoy the annual street fair on the downtown corridor, regardless of severe weather warnings. The afternoon photos show a sparse crowd. Only the brave ventured out in the high humidity almost 90 degree temperatures. Early afternoon was the perfect time to take photos of the vendors, before the evening cools, and the crowds descend on on the activities and food featured at this years festival. I saw a flyer put out by an agent that read " Buy a house from me and Feed the Poor " What he was proposing that he would donate a certain percentage of his commission toward the purchase of food for the local food bank. It is that time ..... summer has slipped away and a beautiful fall is anticipated. The harvest is ready.Small road side stands dots the area, offering fresh corn and a variety of vegetables. I took the short drive to the beautiful countryside to visited two established farm markets, they not only offer top quality fresh picked produce daily but they extend down home country hospitality. and friendly customer appreciation. The Lawrence County Fair has come to the end of another year,This years Fair was held on August 11 through 16. It was another year of fun, and excitement for all who attended this yearly celebration. The organizers web site www.lawrencecountyfair.com listed all the scheduled times for all the events.
