The Brentsville Union Church was completed in 1874 and is still available for worship services by local religious groups. The church is part of the 28 acre Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre. The church, 1822 courthouse, 1822 jail and 1922 one room schoolhouse are now owned and maintained by Prince William County.Architectural lines in rural America during the 18th and 19th century were clean, symmetrical and functional. Their simplicity was the source of their beauty.There are probably thousands of them standing and serving throughout the country today.

Even the decorative features of the windows and doors were understated.

The Brentsville Courthouse was built in 1822 and served as the Prince William County Courthouse until 1894 when the county moved the court system to Manassas where it remains today.
