Where does your business come from? Most of my business comes from past clients and referrals. The Internet also provides leads with people that I have never met before. Networking with others occassionally will produce a referral or a new client, but that five minute touch usually does not end up meaningful. Listening to another and keeping your mouth shut more often than you speak can be extremely useful and using your new aquaintance's name frequently while speaking to them can help ease you into deeper topics and a more profound connection with the person in front of you. Here it is Saturday morning. I just got back from the gym. I am lining up listings for viewings today and tomorrow as well. I work 7 days a week. You might wonder if I take a vacation? It is difficult when you work for yourself to do so. I refer business out to other Realtors in my market area that I trust and respect when I am away. It seems to be warmer than normal this Thanksgiving. In my area, there will be plenty of visitors at the beach, on the golf course, boating and fishing. Red Snapper and Triggerfish are abundant at this time of the year in the Gulf of Mexico. My nail technician yesterday commented that the house is going to be so warm this year when her family comes to visit that they may even have to run their air conditioning. I am sitting having lunch at the Santa Rosa Beach Club off of Hwy. 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. It is located in Walton County. No wonder when I laid eyes on this place I knew exactly where I wanted to be for the rest of my life. It just doesn't get any better. I love it here. You should come for a visit too. Just a glorious day today with temperatures in the high 60s this morning and warming up to 82 this afternoon. October is my favorite time of the year at the beach. Just absolutely beautiful here. Butterflys are migrating on their way to Mexico and arrive in our area about this time yearly. All of my doors and windows are open with a delightful breeze coming through the office this morning. I can't imagine anyone wanting to live somewhere other than here. Here is photo from my morning walk today.

fl: Golfing -- How I did the day after Christmas

I golfed with friends the day after Christmas with friends at a Bobby Jones course in Sarasota Florida. One could not have ordered a better day for golf. Sunshine, beautiful skies and being in nature. We saw plenty of birds and one large alligator on the course. One of my friends had a brand new Taylor Made Driver, the Burner with her. She let me use it and it improved my drives by about an additional 20 yards. I think I am going to buy this club soon. Any suggestions for the best prices on this club? I wanted to let all know that I truly wish everyone a very happy holiday. Tomorrow is Christmas Day. What is your weather like where you are? I will be spending Christmas this year in Sarasota, FL where the wake up temperature today is 61 degrees and it will be sunny today with a high of 81 degrees. I already have a tee time for the day after Christmas.
I grew up in snow and ice and really do not miss it at all. I prefer sunshine year long and Florida does offer this. My wishes this year for Christmas … (4 comments)

Am I the only Realtor out here who had to look up the definition of a Ponzi Scheme? I don't usually deal with this type of investment. Amazing that it even works. I run as fast as I can when I smell a pyramid scheme which this basically was. Do you remember the days when you bought triangles (I never did) but saw it presented to me in the late 70s. The person at the top got all of the money or at least most of it. I feel badly for those who trusted this guy with a lot of money. … (3 comments)

Are these people nuts? Not sure what you did last evening, but here in Destin, FL shoppers were lined up before midnight just waiting to get into the stores for the mad rush for shopping. I prefer to miss all of that and shop online. What did you do? Were you in the madness? I drove by the Silver Sands Factory Outlet today on my way to lunch and there was not a parking space to be found. Looks like the economy at least here in Destin is flourishing.
