Five years in the making, Mooresville Fire Station No. 5 was officially opened Wednesday with the symbolic ringing of the station’s alarm bells. Despite a somewhat high unemployment rate in North Carolina, personal-finance website Nerdwallet.com says the economies in the Tar Heel State are on the rise. On Monday, Nerdwallet released its list of the best places in the state for job-seekers, and it includes five Charlotte-area towns. To compile the list, NerdWallet analyzed 46 North Carolina cities and towns using four metrics: population growth from 2009 through 2012, median household income, median monthly homeowner costs and unemployment rates. The four metrics were combined to generate an overall score. Only places with a population greater than 25,000 were considered. Topping the list is Indian (0 comments)
