LAKE OCONEE ACADEMY IN GREENSBORO IS ONE OF THE BEST!
Located in the city limits of Greensboro, Ga is an amazing, top ranked school called Lake Oconee Academy. This public charter school is the highest performing elementary school in the state of Georgia according to the Georgia Charter School Association and the third highest performing elementary school by schooldigger.com .
Every year kids around the world have to take a Criterion-Referenced Competency Test(CRCT) and the scores were higher than average for the students at Lake Oconee Academy. This test covers Reading, English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies.

Lake Oconee's Lake County Board of Realtors raise over $14,500 !!
The LCBOR was given a tour November 6, 2013 of the new St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital.
Local realtors got a view of the new building, including seeing all the new hospital has to offer. The Lake County Board of Realtors presented the hospital with a check for $14,670 and more donations are still coming in!
The new state of the art hospital will have 27 beds and 3 emergency rooms, with room to expand 2 floors up and more out to the side.

The Barn Bash, a 2013 Fundraising For Rescues event, is being held September 28, from 6-10 pm. at Crooked Pines Farm. Thanks to the hard work of the Oconee Regional Humane Society board members and all the sponsors ,the event is already SOLD OUT! The event is expected to be a huge success!
The "SOLD OUT" event has already met several of the goals set ORHS.

Dinner out at the Silver Moon restaurant at Lake Oconee also turned out to be a winning one for Lin and I, as well as for Greene County Habitat for Humanity! While having a great dinner, we purchased some raffle tickets from Habitat volunteers John O'Brien and Donna Weglewski, who were there on behalf of Habitat to support their organization.
Singer/songwriter Tim Cadiere at Lake Oconee provided the entertainment for the night and helped promote the charity raffle.

Lake Oconee has a great tennis program
Two years ago I got into tennis, well now it is fair to say I have the bug! I have been playing for LOTA for two years and playing in the many other tennis groups in the Lake Area. They have a women's and men's USTA league. They also put on Tournaments and casual group play days. They have different level,s from the beginner to 5.0 and bette.
