As rumors have it, the Kona Country Club is reopening its Ocean Course on February 1, 2016! I looked up tee times and the cost is posted at $165.00 each, and the first Tee time available is at 7:04 am. Its been a long time in the making and it almost didn’t happen.

The most recent Pending Homes Sales Index from the National Association of Realtors revealed that homes going into contract in February increased to their highest level since June 2013.
The Pending Home Sales Index is a leading indicator for the housing sector, based on pending sales of existing homes. A sale is listed as pending when the contract has been signed but the transaction has not closed, though the sale usually is finalized within one or two months of signing.

Hawaii Real Estate Market - a spike or are we are on our way to recovery?
With less than a week left in the month, Kona is still tracking just one shy of last years home sales. I think that is pretty good - considering that we were off by <65%> in January. I pulled out my crystal ball and cleaned it up a bit - and it told me that we would match last years sales, if not beat it by one.
Is this a trend? or just a spike ?

The picture was looking a little bleak just on week ago - looking at the numbers, condo sales were at 8, putting us on track for 12 - scary! But today's numbers look a lot better - we are at 18 so far, with a few more days to go. Still off from last year (33 for May) but way better than 8!
Here are the closings for May - Condos, Kailua Kona, Keauhou, West Hawaii real estate sales.
