With the change in the weather to cooler temps the Sumter, SC real estate market also sees a cool down in sales, but the good news is we are still far ahead of sales for the past four years. We expect to see another increase in the sales in our market around the holidays as another PCS season starts.

September 2013 has started out a little slower than August 2013 in Sumter, SC real estate sales. The August Monthly report will be available soon. The number of homes pending for sales in Sumter, SC is still strong at the end of August 2013. As the PCS season slows in September, we shall see what happens with the Sumter, SC market.
June 2013 proved that a slight decrease in the number of homes under contract doesn’t mean less homes are sold. The number of pending homes at the end of May 2013 was down to 198 from April’s 214. I thought this would possibly translate into less closings or solds in June 2013, but this wasn’t the case. June 2013 saw an increase in closed sales over May by 8 homes. March 2013 proved to be an exciting month in Sumter, South Carolina real estate. I for one watched eargerly as the month unfolded and the number of homes sold kept increasing. The number of pending properties or homes under contract for sale, has been higher than it had been since January. That meant that there were more homes going to close. The number of homes sold in the month of December increased slightly to 67. December sales showed an increase over October and November and and increase year to year over December 2010 61 units sold. The increase in the sales in November and December brought the Year to Date 2011 Units Sold at 822 just short of the 2010 Year To Date Units Sold at 829.
