crested butte: Just a Short Hike...

Two days ago, we went on a ride in my Uncle's Pinzgauer--a Swiss army vehicle that can go anywhere, it's a very heavy duty vehicle and a ton of fun to ride in! We bundled up and rode around with the sides up so we could catch the chilly breeze and get a great view of the scenery. We headed up Cement Creek Road and went as far as the road was cleared. crested butte: Successful Day of Skiing :-)

Well, after I got out all my nerves and anxiety, skiing was tons of fun and went well! It took a little bit to get my groove back but finally I was turning and moving down the hills with no problem! Skiing is a bit like riding a bike, once you've done it before you can always pick it back up again--even if it's been two years!

crested butte: Ready For a Week of Skiing in Crested Butte, CO!

Well after having a quick layover in Salt Lake City; we flew into Gunnison, Colorado which is about thirty minutes from our final destination of Crested Butte. Typically we fly into Denver and drive the five hours to Crested Butte, but luckily the flights straight into Gunnison were cheap this time! We are staying in my uncle's home which has an amazing view of Mt. Crested Butte from his back deck...see the picture below!
