lake havasu: Tax Credit Opportunity in Lake Havasu City - 06/19/09 08:20 AM
If you are looking for a tax credit, Lake Havasu City may just be the place for you to invest your dollars while receiving a tax credit from the state of Arizona.  Arizona residents have been given a great opportunity to help their community and to receive a tax credit.
Instead of raising taxes to help support extra-curricular school activites, the great state of Arizona is giving its residents a tax credit.  Arizona's tax law (A.R.S. 43-1089.01) allows residents to deduct up to $400 when supporting school activities.
What an innovative idea!  Instead of raising taxes to help support our schools, … (0 comments)

lake havasu: Seize the Day - Lake Havasu Part 2 - 06/16/09 09:29 AM

There is much happening on the real estate front.  So, deciding what to post today was rather difficult.  I decided to post what I believe is the most urgent news and disappearing opportunities for Lake Havasu home … (0 comments)

lake havasu: Going Green: The New Tax Credit - 03/20/09 08:37 AM
Saint Patrick's Day has just passed, Spring is just around the corner and April is on its way.  These things put me in mind of the color green, which led to thinking green living, which then reminded me of the new tax credit available to homeowners in Lake Havasu. Lake Havasu homeowners can tax advantage of a new tax credit which is a part of the stimulus program.  The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 changed and extended the tax credits for energy home improvements.

T he median price of a Lake Havasu home has decreased considerably from a year ago as well (from $283,980 to $196,279).  The returning snowbirds looking for property have helped fuel the real estate fire and approximately 20% of the listings currently on the market are foreclosures (247 of 1339 homes).  However, of the 247 foreclosures, 119 of them are currently … (0 comments)

lake havasu: A Ray of Hope in Mortgage Rates - 12/26/08 02:52 AM
Thanks to the Federal Reserve's effots to reduce inner-bank lending rates to almost 0%, mortgage rates have gone down from 5.5% for a 30-year fixed rate loan in early December to 5.2% and even, in some cases, into the high 4% range (the lowest rates in 50 years).  Many banks, including Wells Fargo and Wachovia, cut their prime rates as well.  This translated to a 3/4% drop in interest on home equity loans and credit cards through these banks (from 4% to 3 1/4%).  What does this mean for the housing market?  Well, according to experts, a 1% drop in mortgage rates can easily … (1 comments)

lake havasu: Interest in Re-Financing Up as Mortage Rates Go Down - 12/19/08 03:16 AM
Local Lake Havasu City mortgage brokers are seeing an increase in refinancing requests as the interest rates have decreased.  Unfortunately, lower property values mean many people still owe more on their houses than they are worth and are unable to refinance.  The upside of all this is that the low interest rates have stirred business up for new mortgage requests as well.  Many Lake Havasu residents are taking advantage of the lowest mortgage rates seen in decades (5.18% as of Thursday, December 18) and the lower home sale prices to buy their piece of the American dream.  You  need 20% down for a coventional … (1 comments)
