family stuff: I'm back - 01/17/19 12:30 PM
It's been a rough beginning to 2019.  As is traditional for Sunday we went to Sunday School and church and then to eat lunch with my parents. We had just finished lunch and I was headed to work to type a counter offer because ... business is certainly good... when Donald got a phone call. When I heard it was my father in law I really was taken aback.  Larry NEVER calls us.  He might say "hi" if Jan calls or if we call to talk to her, but he's not a phone talker at all.  Not much of a talker.
As it … (21 comments)

family stuff: Woody - 08/09/18 09:40 PM
Of course I think my grandson is cute and all, but this Woody outfit was just the cutest.  My Donald aka Papa got to eat dinner with our little Cooper last week and he was wearing this.
Tomorrow is Grammy babysit day, well so is Saturday, but I will enjoy it.
Work is busy and I hope to also get a market report done tomorrow too.  Hopefully will be hearing back from a family where I'm getting a new listing that is an estate.
And now I have to chat with my sweet Abigail because I talk to her each night she drives home … (13 comments)

family stuff: A very heavy heart - 07/30/18 09:57 PM
Tomorrow I'll attend the services for a friend from high school, taken too soon.  I'm a person of faith and when I've lost friends I've usually been at peace because of my faith.  This time I'm not at all feeling peace, I'm angry. My dear friend was murdered. It's been a long time since a murder touched my life this personally. I just feel beyond sad and at the same time furious.
I am hoping that saying good-bye will give me some closure and let me start to heal. But at the same time I know that I will follow the case … (21 comments)

family stuff: Random Wednesday thoughts - 03/07/18 09:43 PM
It was a tough day today.  When I showed my Donald the long list of calls on my cell phone today it took me 5 minutes to keep scrolling through the pages.
A new listing photo appointment.  A new REO photo fact finding mission (oh it was SO bad) A long call with my new website guy. A couple of different friends needed someone to vent to today and well it was my day to listen.
I still have so much to do before Cooper gets here in April and I'm beginning to get weepy nostalgic about when my Abigail was born and a … (13 comments)

family stuff: There are secrets and there are SECRETS - 02/12/17 12:04 PM
There are things that people have told me in confidence that I will take to my grave. However there are other times that knowing "news" causes me to have to cut myself off from the world to stop myself from sharing it.  A few years ago when I was planning my parent's 50th wedding anniversary I just COULD NOT talk to my mom daily (which is very typical of our relationship) so I dug deep into work and planning when she would call I'd text back that I was really busy.  When we did talk I'd keep it super brief because … (13 comments)

family stuff: I knew these days would happen... - 01/25/11 10:18 AM
When my baby girl took a job as an EMT I knew there were going to be days that hurt.  My daughter is so heartbroken when she looses someone.  So I have spent much of today shedding tears over a stranger.  I guess eventually when I read it in the paper I will know the name of the person, but for now, I only know they make and model of the car they were driving and that my daughter hurts when there is one she can't save.
The irony of this one, was the accident (car turning left and hit in … (29 comments)

family stuff: A sigh of relief and ready to go again! - 03/01/10 07:57 AM
I try not to hate anything... but the IRS, well, it's a very strong dislike.  Not for any individual that works there, but the concept in general.  Doing taxes makes me physically ill.  I usually start off the year doing my first quarterly stuff the first day I get the form and promise myself I will continue.  But by the time it's January of the following year and I'm going all that year end stuff... the Annual 1099s and w2s and GA Annual Tax Report and the Federal Unempoyment tax forms for my company I do it... everytime... I put it … (15 comments)

family stuff: May 2010 be a great year for all of you! - 12/31/09 08:00 AM
I've had my fair share of challenges in life and in business.  2009 brought new ones, unfamiliar ones.
But my family has always known how to overcome a challenge.
In the photo on the left from October 2005 you will see "one of these things just doesn't belong here", that would my daughter wearing the flip flops and not cleats like the rest of her softball team.  But although the surgery in September on her hand that year kept her from playing after the cast came off... she dressed out for every game and cheered on her team from the bench.  … (17 comments)

family stuff: My favorite gift this Christmas! - 12/27/09 09:54 AM
Well Christmas is behind up and the new year is right around the corner.  I always have a favorite Crhistmas gift.  Usually it's my letter from Donald and this year, like all other before it I got my letter.  It was a little differnt this year.  Donald wasn't home when I opened it.  I left his letter out for him because he had to get up at 4:30 a.m. and get ready and head off to work.  He came in to kiss my goodbye as he does ever morning when he is about to head out and left me my letter, … (19 comments)

family stuff: My American Soldier, my hero, my Donald! - 11/11/09 04:45 AM
My husband is my hero!  He served our country in the U.S. Army for 12 years.  He grew up being one of those "military brats", he was born in Virginia, spent time in Japan and ended up in San Diego as a teenager.
His father walked out of his life when Donald was just 14 years old.  For the past 30 years my husband has not seen nor heard from his father, yet he is the best daddy ever to MY daughter, Abigail.
Donald and I met just over 11 years ago.  I was on line in a chat room talking … (13 comments)

family stuff: Thankful Thursday- the time I gave, the lessons I learned *warning* tissues may be needed - 09/24/09 05:58 AM
I am healing from the loss of my Grandmother.  I am working with clients again and getting things accomplished and my house is well as cleaned up as any regular day. (which by way is still cluttered).
I miss her, I find myself with time that I was spending with her that I don't know what to do with.  Extra time on my hands? Who has that?
This photo of her was taken just two weeks before she moved on from this life.  She was very sick and tired, but I still see the love she had for me in her … (28 comments)
