Okay Murphy, NC now is the time to get your potatoes ready for planting! Earlier this week we had a lot of rain, but the sun has been shining bright and everything is starting to feel like spring again. Yes, it's time to start thinking about your gardens and planting your potatoes. So here is a great little tip for getting started... Instead of buying those really expensive seed potatoes, just pick up a 5 pound bag of organic potatoes. We've just ordered some from the Co-Op we belong to - one bag to eat and the other to plant. The gardens will soon be put to rest here in Murphy, NC, but Ashley shared this shot of one of her Morning Glory flowers crowding into the blueberry bushes with us and it is already making me want to start planning next years garden. Ashley is a very delightful young lady that lives down the road from us with her parents and her two other sisters in a beautiful log home. They moved here from Florida too. We’ve had such a great time watching all the firework displays in Murphy, NC and over in our neighboring GA and TN mountains. The whistles, cannon–like sounds and colorful fireworks bursting in the sky unite us all as we celebrate Independence Day. Back out in the garden today we saw a different type of display come up from this Dandelion. Doesn’t it look like its celebrating with us too? Have a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend!
