If you were around the New York City rock and punk scene in the early 1970’s, you should remember the ground-breaking band Television. Well, the band is still together, and I was lucky enough to catch them on December 28th at Irving Plaza, down in the Union Square neighborhood of lower Manhattan. Television certainly was one of the big NYC bands forty years ago, up there with the likes of Patti Smith, the Ramones, Blondie, and the Talking Heads. Television’s first album, Marquee Moon was ranked number 128 on Rolling Stone’s 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. … (1 comments)
