LEAGUE CITY — The city of League City put out a call on Tuesday for companies capable of moving a Compton oak measuring 51 inches in diameter about 1,500 feet down the road. But the call for bids doesn’t mean the city council has decided to move the tree, known as the Ghirardi oak, at FM 518 and Louisiana Avenue.
