Nature Pictures -- Horses and Flowers That Caught My Eye At Real Estate Listings I Have Shown In May, 2011. This horse was near a mobile home I was showing last night on Stillwater.
This picture is blurry because the horse was a long way away and I was trying to use a 16X zoom to capture the picture. Its the best of the four pictures I took of this horse.
This showing lasted 2 1/2 hours, and I could only check my phone so many times. I was grateful for the horses as they took up some (5 comments)
He went out of town to take pictures of trains all weekend in Oklahoma, while I stayed here and sold houses and rented houses. So while he is away he gets to buy me dinner.
Friday night I went to Carino's, which was near where I was showing a lease property. Carino's always has such nice landscaping, similar to this.
I love the round topiary in the right hand corner. Another signature thing for Carino's is the tile roof.
The first annual ironman Texas competition was held today. More than 2,500 athletes from all over the world competed in a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike race and a 26.2 mile run. I wonder how many actually made it to the finish line.
Here are some of the riders. I like their helmets.
We shared the road with the bicycles.
The support staff were very good about passing things to the riders. I saw lots of tables with waters for the riders.

- 05/19/11 04:49 AM
Pictures from Hawaii -- May 2011. My brother Bob is in Hawaii on vacation, and I asked him to send me some pictures with descriptions. He vacations there about avery three years or so.
This was from the B&B that my brother stays at every time he vacations in Hawaii. The rate is $85 per night. West Maui is in the distance.
Sunrise at Haleakala Maui. The sun was peeking out behind some clouds. An awe inspiring view. My oldest sister and I went to Haleakala in June of 2000. It took a long time to drive to the (6 comments)
The eyelashes are just adorable. Someone was really creative to imagine and follow through with the invention of the eyelashes. The symbol on the front looks like a mercedes, is it???
I'm glad she has her god fish to help protect her. I would not want to get into an accident in one of these cars. This is an adorable little car, the eyelashes only enhance the "cuteness".
I highly recommend Troy Hill, he is honest, dependable and very reasonable. He has done painting, cabinet work, replaced a double paned window, done lock repairs, as well as other odd jobs on at least 4 of my listings over the last couple of years.
I have even had Troy work on jobs around my own house. I consider Troy a good friend, as well as a colleague. Please call him (or his wife Patty) at 832-585-4515 to schedule an appointment and tell him Liz Flint (2 comments)
liz flint: "Insidious" A Movie Review By Your Houston Real Estate Professional
- 05/17/11 06:36 AM
"Insidious" A Movie Review by Your Houston Real Estate Professional. This is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen in my life. I was expecting a movie about supernatural events. This movie combines ideas I've seen in the series The Twilight Zone with ideas you would associate Ghost Hunters. While the movie doesn't have any big stars that I recognized, it was absolutely riveting.
The only bad thing was the screaming teenagers in the theater. I was still thinking about this movie the next day. I would not take small children to this movie.
I saw a poster at the Galleria about a special exhibit on loan from The National Gallery of Art.
This Impressionist and Post-Impressionist exhibit will be on display only until May 23rd here in Houston.
The actual picture of Vincent van Gogh was very impressive. It looked as vibrant as if it had been painted yesterday, not hundreds of years ago. The blue was amazing.
The Impressionist Exhibit is on the second floor of the adjacent building to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. I (3 comments)
What a great place, as soon as you walk through the gates you smell Greek food and there is lots to see and do.
Here is the stage. By the way, there is lots of seating for you and your family and friends.
Here is a sample of the entertainment. I wish I had seen the dancers, the costumes are so brilliantly colored -- they improve your mood just looking at them.
Here is the back of the church. According to the (4 comments)
liz flint: Food As Art!

Food As Art. I took these pictures at the local grocery store last night.
This Graduation cake was the first to catch my eye. After that I really started looking for the pieces of art in the food.
My husband loves these little edible chocolate cups filled with mousse. Sometimes at stores you will have a choice of dark chocolate or milk chocolate cups.
Another favorite at my house is the cheesecake covered with fruit. My brother usually brings one to my house when he stays with me when he visits from Hawaii.
This cute little dessert is (8 comments)

This morning I had a call from a buyer wanting to see a house in Plantersville. I called and set up the appointment for 9am. On the way over to the showing I saw this BBQ Hut in Magnolia being moved. The city has been trying to do away with all the businesses right next to the railroad tracks in Magnolia.
The BBQ Hut was the last to be moved. I think it had been there for over 20 years.
After I showed the buyer the house in Plantersville, I went over to check on one of my listings. (0 comments)
liz flint: Fire In Tomball!
- 05/11/11 05:59 AM
Fire at Tomball Parkway and Holderreith Rd Tuesday May 10th, 2011.
Here was the scene as I approached Holderreith. The grass is VERY dry here.
I saw this fire yesterday when I was driving home from the Century 21 office. There were lots of emergency vehicles.
I must commend the fire department and the police officers on duty. They handled the whole situation with only shutting down one lane and not blocking the traffic at all.
There is a burn ban in effect, please do not throw your cigarette butts out the window. (2 comments)
Impressionist & Post-Impressionist Art on loan at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. When I was at The Houston Galleria yesterday I happened to notice this poster. I think I will try to go see the artwork before they close the exhibit on May 23rd.
I want to say this is a Saurat, but I'm not certain. I hope they have some Monets and Manets on exhibit. I think I saw two of Monet's Water Lily oil paintings on exhibit a few years ago at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth. They were really lovely.

liz flint: The Houston Galleria -- A Timeless Treasure!
- 05/10/11 12:25 PM
The Houston Galleria -- A Timeless Treasure! I remember when my mother bought me here to buy a fur collar coat when I was a teenager. And the stores still look as modern and prosperous today as they were back then. They have really done a good job of keeping current with the times.
I was picking up a check at a real estate company for a Houston Rental Property that I had the tenant for. I had to wait for an hour until the Broker could go to the office and prepare and sign a check, so I thought I (2 comments)
