air conditioner: Difference of 'Night & Day'

Difference of 'Night & Day' is often thrown out as one of those over used quips. In North Idaho it is meant quite literally when talking about the summer heat.
Many times a buyer from out of town will ask about air conditioning and is taken back when I explain not everyone feels the need for AC in the North Idaho Panhandle. I then explain the difference between North Idaho and most other areas that experience the extreme heat.

I am often asked the question why this home does not have air conditioning. We are fortunate in North Idaho for many different things. One of which is, unlike say Southern California-Arizona or Florida, that most often night time temperatures drop to a very comfortable cool, sometimes chilly level, even with higher temps during the day. Yesterday was mid 90's in the Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry areas. The picture taken was on the way to the office this morning. Simple planning can save the high cost of Air Conditioners.
