home inspections: Decks, Decks and More Maryland Decks - 05/20/11 10:27 AM
It seems that since the spring is here people here in Maryland are gearing up for the great fun that the good weather and friends bring. Lots of people seem to be getting their decks cleaned, stained, treated, and generally having them fixed up as they should do as a scheduled yearly safety maintenance program.
Here at Maryland Home Inspection Services we have many of our old customers as well as many new customers asking us to come out and do a thorough inspection of their decks. The few dollars that this costs can not only help to save from larger … (0 comments)

home inspections: The Maryland Summer Heat is Back !! - 04/20/11 10:03 AM
OK well I did another Home Inspection today in Gaithersburg Maryland.  Wow the heat came back and reminded me just how hot attics get in the summer here in Maryland.  The sweat was dripping and the air was thick it was a Long 15 minutes.  Fortunately from past experience I have learned to turn on the AC just before doing the attic inspections so that when I get out, the house is cool, (hopefully).  Oh well it's all good and I am glad the good weather is back and I am seeing an upward trend already in the Real Estate market … (0 comments)

Maryland Home Inspection Services and all of our Home Inspectors wanted to give you a few safety tips before summer.  As summer approaches, the International Code Council is urging homeowners to take the time to check their outdoor areas for potential safety hazards. Proper inspections now can help to keep your family and friends safe in the future. The International Code Council, a membership organization dedicated to building safety and fire prevention, develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools. Most U.S. cities, counties and states that adopt codes choose the International Codes developed by … (0 comments)

home inspections: Fluff or Nuts, Where Do You Stand ? - 02/27/11 02:23 AM
We all are working for the same common goal, and that is to make a good living.  The question is about your professional integrity.  I have performed so many Home Inspections over the years that I have seen it all. Brand new homes, 100 year old homes and everything in between.  To be quite honest I have never once Inspected a home or commercial property that has not had at least a few (minor) issues.
I have met many, many real estate agents and have worked with some that their agenda was to close the deal no matter what. They … (8 comments)

home inspections: Today's Home Inspection - 02/10/11 12:12 PM
OK well today I performed another Home Inspection on a brand new home. This home was just completed by the builder and in fact the settlement is not until tomorrow.  The home owner is a very nice young single mom.  This is a very nice (gorgeous) in my opinion) 3500 sq ft single family with finished basement, 2 car garage and all the bells and whistles.  OK well the girl was told that it is a waste of her money to get a Home Inspection on this house because it was brand new.  Well as a Professional Maryland Home Inspector and ex-builder I … (10 comments)
