michelle roberts: Monday Market Update - November 1, 2010 - 11/01/10 06:31 AM

Happy Monday!
A big week this week with mid term elections tomorrow.  Please take time to vote and let your voice be heard!
One of the biggest news items up for debate is the Fed's expected announcement of another round of Quantitative Easing (QE2) when it releases its statement this week. Remember, QE is the concept of the Fed becoming a heavy buyer of Treasuries and Bonds. Happy Monday!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to enjoy the great weather.  I attended my 20th High School Reunion and was reminded how quickly time flys by!
I attended another 2 day Short Sale education class last week and continue to be amazed how confusing the mortgage industry makes it for consumers to get good information about their options if they are in financial distress.  The majority of homeowners that go into foreclosure never seek other alternatives and end up facing the consequences of a foreclosure on their credit for years to … (0 comments)

INSPIRATION FOR TODAY: “Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.” - Goethe BE ALL THAT THEY CAN BE?
On an A&E Biography segment, Oprah Winfrey was being interviewed. She was asked whether she considered all the competing talk shows to be a threat to her own daytime show. She answered with a personal story about running in a marathon.
It seems Oprah had always had a dream of running in a marathon. She trained for two years to get ready, and she ran her marathon. Oprah explained that, … (2 comments)

Happy Monday!
I hope you had a great weekend.  The weather was beautiful here and Fall is definitely in the air!
I came across a great check list that I wanted to pass on to anyone considering making a home purchase.  The 10 Deadly Mistakes Buyers Make When Purchasing a Home:
1. Making an offer on a home without being prequalified
2. Not having a home inspection
3. Limiting your search to open houses, ads or the internet
4. Choosing a real estate agent who is not committed to forming a strong business relationship with you.
5. Thinking there is … (0 comments)

INSPIRATION FOR TODAY: “Pursue the good ardently. But if your efforts fall short, accept the result and move on.” - Epictetus WHO ARE YOU?
Who do you want to be? Which are the principles by which you want to live? Do honesty, perseverance, and wisdom define you? Are sincerity, generosity, and a caring attitude your trademark?
Having a vague idea of the benchmark traits you wish to exhibit is not enough. To be extraordinary, it is necessary to define yourself in specific terms. If you haven’t adopted a precise set of principles, consider choosing from the list that follows: humility, diligence, … (0 comments)

INSPIRATION FOR TODAY: “In the midst of our daily lives, we must find the juice to nourish our creative souls.” - Sark TRAVELLING AT WARP SPEED?
Familiar with the speed of light? According to science books, light travels at a speed of 186,000 miles per second. That’s been common knowledge for years. Now, however, scientists have discovered in experiments that light may travel many times faster. In fact, tests seem to show that light may travel so fast that it arrives BEFORE it even leaves its source.
Business now travels at the speed of the Internet. “Fast Company” magazine reports … (4 comments)

INSPIRATION FOR TODAY: “People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it!” ~ Anonymous WHICH ONE ARE YOU?
Some of the best minds suggest that when you have a dream, you should keep it to yourself. You should set about quietly achieving your dream, but without sharing it with others. Their reasoning is that when you share your lofty goal, you open yourself up to the ridicule and criticism of those who say, “It cannot be done.” This is distracting, and can negate your efforts.
Avoid the crowd who says, “It cannot be … (2 comments)

michelle roberts: The Prime 7 Must-Do’s of Home Staging - 09/03/10 07:12 AM
Staging your home should be a fun, cheap experience that can significantly affect the quantity of leverage you have when negotiating the sale of your home. But first you need to understand where to start. Haphazardly staging your home without a plan or guide to what you are doing will result in missed opportunities and a staged home that lacks a cohesive flow. When your staging your home, heed the Prime 7 Must-Do’s of Home Staging.

INSPIRATION FOR TODAY: “You cannot discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.” ~ Unattributed ELIMINATE THE BOX!
It was refreshing to read the article entitled “Thirty Under Thirty” in the REALTOR(r) magazine. Thirty agents under the age of thirty talked about their approach to real estate, and most seemed to “think outside the box.” They didn’t appear to be bound by conventional rules of marketing conduct. Think back to when you were a young child. You were totally uninhibited by rules, so you weren’t afraid to try new things.
