What the "Smart Money" Tells us about the Housing Market In a memo from my Coldwell Banker office, I learned that sales of high end homes, meaning  those in the over $2 million range, is up an amazing 12%.  Many of the Berkeley Area offices report that more buyers are taking advantage of the still-low mortgage rates and the affordable prices.  A fellow agent who was selling a lovely home in Piedmont received multiple offers for her attractive listing, and it ended up selling for over the asking price.So what does that mean to you?

Who Can You Trust When You're Thinking of Moving? Monday on KPFA (our good old Berkeley Area Pacifica Station) a man named Donald Van de Mark was on the air.  He’s launching a book called “The Good Among the Great-10 traits of the most Admirable, Creative, and Joyful People”.  I’ve included the YouTube link here.

How Japan's Disaster Might Affect the Berkeley Area The events in Japan certainly put our own economic woes in sharp relief Many Japanese are experiencing crushing grief over the devastating loss of friends and family.  Not just homes, but whole cities, towns, and businesses fell victim to the disaster, and even if someone survived the earthquake and tsunami, surviving the aftermath might be problematic.
