happiness: Love starts with me. - 12/12/13 05:19 AM
I read this today from Wayne Dyer and had to share.
If you don’t love yourself, nobody else will. Not only that, you won’t be good at loving anyone else. Loving starts with the self.
Notice each day whether you are choosing to live in fear or love. Fear can keep you disconnected from the loving presence inside of you. Causing fear is a tactic of the ego, whether it be your own ego or the world’s ego. The world’s ego is a reflection of individual ego power and the amount of fear that is active. Fear is present when we … (3 comments)

happiness: Abundance. - 11/27/13 03:39 AM
A few years ago, after a series of unfortunate circumstances, or at least i thought so at the time, I decided to exercise simplicity and solitude. I took a step forward, with the assistance of the few people who remained by my side, and took a good, serious and honest look to the person on the mirror. I saw the me I was refusing to see for so long. I rediscovered the true nature of my soul, a soul I had lost along the way. I realized how cynical I had become because of the many events that have happened. In … (3 comments)

happiness: At Choice With Happiness - 11/26/13 03:05 AM

“Don’t seek happiness. If you seek it, you won’t find it, because seeking is the antithesis of happiness.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

It is said that happiness is the most common goal in people’s lives. How happy are you? I hope your answer was “depends.” That is because happiness depends on our personal view of situations, relationships, work, or things. If you change your view, you change your level of happiness.
“I will be happy when, if only, and after,” are the phrases used to preface our statements about happiness. They typify common beliefs that happiness is determined by the external … (2 comments)

happiness: Finding Happiness - 05/22/13 10:32 AM

Happiness is a state of mind, it’s a daily exercise and as such requires practice. Start with a smiling at yourself in the mirror for only a few minutes a day, with time it will happen like is a natural thing…don’t worry too much if you realize that a day or two you have not been exercising…just get back and start again. happiness: New Horizons.... - 03/15/13 03:29 AM
“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” -Andre Gide
Frequently, I find myself thinking about the past, somewhat reliving the past. Not in an attempt to change what had happened, but to understand what happened and trying to learn as much as possible so I won't repeat the same mistakes again...
Like most people, I’ve been hurt. For a long time, when I was young, I held onto those aches and pains because I wasn’t sure how to handle them.
Like most out there, I would act like they never occurred. … (4 comments)

happiness: Just Dance. - 03/04/13 11:24 PM

We get into this life alone. We leave this life pretty much in the same way. In between one and the other we dance along this space we call life.

People say it takes two to tango, but not all of us are blessed to have a dance partner.
For a long time I've kept waiting for that special partner to start dancing....well, I'm learning that dancing alone is not such a bad thing.

The bottom line is, between here and there, we must dance like this is the last dance or, better yet, our … (7 comments)

happiness: Lessons I've learned from my little garden. - 11/28/12 12:44 AM
November thing I grateful for day 28: I am grateful for my little Garden. While gardening, playing in the dirt, trying to envision how they will look when they are finally grown, learning and understanding each one of my many seeds needs, those little and fragile plants have taught me important lessons. I have learned not to judge a book by its cover - a tiny, tiny seed can, with care and attention, become a wonderful and strong flower, that spreads its branches, beauty and fragrance over a place thousands of times bigger than itself, filling it with luxurious beauty. They … (4 comments)

happiness: November things I am grateful for day 25: - 11/25/12 03:10 AM

I am grateful for the quiet mornings. Those days when iIwalk peacefully waiting for sunrises, trying to keep my head screwed on, focusing on what is really important, and realizing that to not let the 'old me' creep back in, is a daily exercise. Those mornings when, while in awe of the immense and beautiful Universe, who granted me more blessings than I deserved, I feel the cold morning breeze come and kiss my face...I almost can hear it murmur....' Don't worry....everything is and will be okay...'. In those little moments, when Nature and I connect, the whole … (1 comments)

happiness: Are You Trying To Be Somebody You’re Not? - 11/24/12 11:49 PM
Lately I've been busy with professional changes, working, organizing and reblogging the writings from the journey I've endured in the last 3 years in search of myself on my blog The Power Within, focusing on each and every day find something to be truly grateful for and elaborating on why I am grateful for and sharing with my friend on FB but today, as I sit here on this lazy Sunday, I took the time to order some new books for my vacation, read some of the posts I have saved but didn't have the chance to read and as I read this one it made me … (5 comments)

happiness: Isn't This The Truth? - 10/19/12 11:16 PM
Laughter is an Instant Vacation
You know, sometimes life just gets too serious...too busy...and too complicated. We don't mean for it to happen, but we wake up one morning to discover the fun has slipped away. A few years ago a health study determined there are 3 main reasons people can't cope in life:     1. They live in the past.     2. They have a low self-esteem.     3. They can't laugh at themselves. In fact, the study indicated that we need approximately 12 laughs a day to stay healthy!
I heard a story not long ago about a guy who … (5 comments)

happiness: How would you spend today if it were the one day by which your enitre life would be jugded? Revisited - 10/11/12 12:10 AM
On the process of compiling many of the things I have shared and written throughout the last 3 years to repost on my Blog The Power Within, I ran into this one, posted originally in October/2010 and thought that it is always good to remind us that Today is all that we truly have.
For me words were always a powerful tool, their meaning can make or break own own spirit and those of others. My life has been enhanced only by learning the true meaning of words, I have travelled the world from the quiet peace of my bedrooms reading narratives from great authors … (2 comments)

happiness: 10 Ways to Be Great Today - 10/05/12 01:02 AM

 by Lori Deschene
Earlier this week I wrote a post about the pursuit of greatness. I highlighted how it can sometimes create stress when it manifests as fear that we’re not good enough and might never be.
In reviewing the reader comments, I felt a sense of deep appreciation for knowing so many truly great people. And I imagined there were far more of them who didn’t comment—some who may not realize just how great they are.
I decided to put together this list based on some of my favorite related quotes. If you’re looking to nurture greatness, these tips … (24 comments)

happiness: Growing Pains. - 08/14/12 10:22 PM
Just sharing with you my morning reading for today.   "I do not remember the exact age when I began to experience growing pains. I woke up in the middle of the night very uncomfortable. My legs hurt. My arms hurt. It seemed everything hurt. After a while the pain went away and I was a bit tall... er, my arms a bit longer. We go through a similar process for spiritual growth. Courageously asking ourselves hard questions that intentionally expand the boundaries of what we are taught to believe, grows our soul's understanding. Often it is a painful process, especially when … (4 comments)

happiness: Living a simple life... - 08/09/12 11:24 PM
Last Sunday me and a group of friends spent the day in Gloucester, were we went to enjoy a Whale Watch trip. There were 11 of us and while sitting on the curb, waiting for the time to leave, we shared snacks and drinks, jokes and laughs, then the time came and we enjoyed a magnificent day on the Hurricane - from Cape Ann Whale Watch, with the whales giving us a private show (at least that is how it felt - I have over 250 pics to prove it...), then we went to get ice cream and sit on the beach to chat before coming back home.

happiness: Note to self: JUST BREATHE! - 07/30/12 10:55 PM

Have you ever gotten so involved with something that it completely consumed you? I guess, at one point or another, we all have been there. It kept you away from your loved ones, your friends, your obligations, your health…
If you see yourself in one of those crazy vortexes that comes into our lives from time to time, stop for a little, evaluate the situation, remove all the 'drama' factor...then ask yourself -  Does this have a different solution, what if I change my perspective just an inch? Is it as intense and important as I believe it is? … (5 comments)

happiness: Managing self control. - 07/18/12 10:07 PM
How do you defuse anger within yourself?
If you never get mad, you’re not human. Living on a relationship where there is never a disagreement is a dangerous place since it is an indiference about the other disguised as a false sense of peace. Physical and verbal abuses are not acceptable behavior in any case and should not be taken lightly.
I am referring to the anger that happens when someone does or, like in most cases, doesn’t do something, against your wishes.
The old adage of counting to ten or one hundred depending on the circumstances helps, walking … (5 comments)

happiness: Creating a happy life with the tools you have. - 06/29/12 10:29 PM

'The happiness of one's own heart alone cannot satisfy the soul; one must try to include, as necessary to one's own happiness, the happiness of others.' - Patamahansa Yogananda.
Many times people over analyze, complicate, over expect, over dream a situation, or a romance... make life a good one with the tools you have, right here, right now... it doesn't matter much if this is going to be a lifelong experience, but while in it, have a blast; love the best way you can, laugh the best laughther yet, make each moment a moment to be remembered with tenderness, make the journey a … (6 comments)

happiness: Take time to love well. - 06/29/12 12:17 PM

Love, that mystical emotion that draws us, captures us, makes us crazy at the same time gives us sanity. Love causes us to lose everything, but then again puts so much more into our lives. It can be a real drag on our style, but it also fires excitement and passion. Love is something that we don’t want to have it control us, but it dominates our every moment. If you don’t have it, look for it because it is there. If you have it, cherish it and hold it close. If you’ve lost it, have faith and it … (2 comments)
