I believe today is the first day this year I did not check my email by 7:00 AM at the very latest.  Today, before I even opened my eyes, I abandoned my plan to walk five miles--nixed those as I burrowed deeper into my down-filled pillow.  Ditto for making a trip to market.  I opted to indulge in an extra hour between my high-thread count sheets and linger over a second cup of tea.  Heavens, I also read a few chapters in a book that had nothing to do with real estate.

Last Sunday I spent the morning with my tax accountant.  I know, it sounds painful, but we always have a delightful time at our annual get-together.  She began doing my taxes in 1993 so our professional and personal friendship has developed over time.  We catch up on changes as her calculator clicks away.  By the end of our meeting I know what I need to pay Uncle Sam and am up to date on changes in the tax laws that impact my business.

Dr. Seuss possessed a magical mind.  I always loved reading his books to my children, my students and now my grandchildren.  There is always a strong message and life lesson in his nonsensical writings.
